Canada Admission Checklist

Canada offers two major intakes for international students applying to universities and colleges:

📅 Fall Intake – Starts in September (Application deadlines: January – April)
📅 Winter Intake – Starts in January (Application deadlines: June – September)

Some institutions also offer a Summer Intake (May), but it is available for limited programs.

🕒 Processing Time:

  • Universities: 8-12 weeks
  • Colleges: 2-4 weeks

Checklist of Documents Required for Admission

For Bachelor’s & Master’s Programs (University Admission)

✅ Academic Transcripts:

  • 10th Grade Certificate (Attested by the Principal in a sealed envelope)
  • 12th Grade/Diploma Certificate (Attested by the Principal in a sealed envelope)
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree – Individual mark sheets (Attested by Controller/Registrar in a sealed envelope)
  • Consolidated Mark Sheet/Provisional/Degree/Course Completion Certificate (Attested by Controller/Registrar in a sealed envelope)

✅ English Language Proficiency Test:

  • IELTS/TOEFL/PTE – Copy with attestation (Official score reporting to the university is required)
  • GRE/GMAT (if applicable) – Copy with attestation

✅ Letters of Recommendation (LORs) – Three Required (in sealed covers)
1️⃣ From a Professor/Assistant Professor/Lecturer who has taught the student
2️⃣ From the Head of Department (HOD)
3️⃣ From the Principal

✅ Other Required Documents:
📄 Statement of Purpose (SOP) – A well-written SOP explaining your academic background, career goals, and reasons for choosing Canada.
📄 CV/Resume – Updated resume with academic and professional details.
📄 Experience Letter (if applicable) – Required for master’s applicants with work experience.
📄 Passport Copy (First & Last Pages) – With attestation.
📄 Extra-Curricular Certificates (if any).
📄 Passport Size Photographs.

For Diploma & College Programs

✅ Academic Transcripts:

  • 10th Grade Certificate (Attested by the Principal in a sealed envelope)
  • 12th Grade/Diploma Certificate (Attested by the Principal in a sealed envelope)
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s Individual & Consolidated Mark Sheet (if applicable)
  • Provisional Certificate or Degree Certificate (if applicable)

✅ English Language Proficiency Test:

  • IELTS/TOEFL/PTE – Copy with attestation

✅ Letters of Recommendation (LORs) – Three Required (in sealed covers)

Important Notes:

  • Attestation is mandatory for academic documents. Ensure they are in sealed envelopes.
  • SOP and LORs play a crucial role in securing admission, so they must be well-structured.
  • Ensure timely submission of documents to meet university deadlines.
  • Check for additional program-specific requirements, such as portfolios (for arts/design programs) or research proposals (for Ph.D. programs).
